The first Base Camp on March 8th was a huge success. We were blown away by the amount of people that came and the number of people who showed up just to serve. We had people out in the parking lot in the bitter cold just to give and smile and a handshake to everyone that came in. We had people at the doors to greet and hand out contact cards. We had people serving coffee and information about the church. We had a great praise band who came very early to set up and to lead us to the throne of God. We had helpers in the back to watch over our kids while we were up on the platform. We had people bring balloons, banners, flashlights, parking vests, and everything in between. We were tremendously blessed to see God provide so much on our first night. People showed up from Forest and Lynchburg down to Fincastle and Salem and everywhere in between. They gave sacrificially of their time, their talents, and their finances to make of first Base Camp an extremely memorable and productive one. Thank you all for helping out that night. We could not have pulled it off without you.
Our Base Camp meetings are set up in order to help us safely arrive at the summit of our mountain. Right now that mountain is a September 7th launch. We are meeting monthly now and soon it will become bi-monthly in order to refresh, refuel, and refocus our efforts at reaching the people of Bedford and beginning this Bedrock church planting movement. For our first meeting we focused in on the vision and mission of Bedrock. We were able to hear from each staff member and meet their families and truly see their heart for ministry. We were also able to see the debut of the brand new vision video for Bedrock. We want to thank the guys from AFCreative for all of their hard work on that project. It turned out great.
